We had a picnic lunch in the grounds of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Twelve Apostles, a stone’s throw from the ancient city of Capernaum.

It was a lovely setting for our picnic, overlooking the Sea of Galilee.

Afterwards, we visited the church, the walls, ceiling and sanctuary of which are painted with vivid murals depicting events in the life of Christ which took place in the Capernaum area.
